As of Oct 15, 2026, the FRP grating import duty for China-origin grating under HTS 3925.90.00.00 is about 42.8%: 5.3% MFN, plus 25% under Section 301 List 3, plus 12.5% under the Section 301 forced-labor action. ## What is the HTS code for FRP grating?

US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) classifies molded and pultruded FRP grating under HTS 3925.90.00.00, “builders’ ware of plastics, other,” in ruling NY L81379. Earlier rulings NY 856014 (1990) and NY 861123 (1991) reached the same heading. CBP rejected classifying the grating as a glass-fiber article under Chapter 70, because it is a rigid plastic article.

## How do you estimate landed cost per square foot?

Landed cost per sq ft is the factory price plus every import cost, divided by the square feet you receive. Add up the costs for one container, then divide by the square feet it holds. ## Do grating clips and hardware pay a different duty?

They can. As of Oct 2026, Section 232 steel derivative products, including hardware and fasteners, carry 50% duty on their full value, so stainless steel hold-down clips shipped with grating may be subject to it. Yes. ## Does Canada charge duty on FRP grating?

Canada applies its own tariff, not the US duty stack. As of Oct 2026, its MFN duty rate for tariff item 3925.90 is 6.5%, and Canada’s surtaxes on Chinese goods cover steel, aluminum and electric vehicles, not plastic products such as FRP grating.
