About Nantong Strongrate, a Fiberglass Grating Manufacturer in China

DNV’s type approval names NANTONG STRONGRATE CO.,LTD of Nantong as its holder, the same legal entity as on the company’s Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) record. Some directories still list the former name, shown below to help you match older records.

Strongrate grating is made at the company’s factory in Nantong, Jiangsu Province, a center of China’s FRP grating manufacturing for export, and ships from China by ocean freight. There is no Strongrate plant, warehouse or stock in the US. Because it is made in China, it does not qualify for federally funded projects covered by Build America, Buy America (BABA); privately funded projects are not subject to BABA. Strongrate’s 2023 catalog describes a factory site of about 592,000 sq ft (55,000 m²) with about 484,000 sq ft (45,000 m²) of buildings, 160+ production workers, and 100+ molds for molded grating plus 400+ dies for pultruded shapes.

Strongrate holds DNV Type Approval TAF0000191 Rev. 1, a fire-technical approval of six grating models valid until Feb 10, 2027. What it covers, and the ASTM E84 results it lists, are on certifications and test reports.

A news item on strongrate.com reports that the company exhibited at SEA JAPAN 2018 at Tokyo Big Sight, and the organizer of AusRAIL 2026 lists Strongrate as an exhibitor in Brisbane, Australia, on Nov 23–25, 2026.
