Fiberglass grating calculators and comparison tools
Updated
Start with the grating specification, then estimate area, panel quantity and material weight. These tools use Strongrate’s published catalog data and your project inputs, with imperial and metric units. Use the results to prepare a quantity schedule; verify the layout, supports and design loads separately before ordering.
Choose a planning tool
- 01 / Specification
Start with your project requirements, or search a known family, mesh, model or depth to compare catalog parameters.
- 01 / Load check
Enter the design load, clear span and deflection limit to list every catalog configuration that meets it, shallowest first.
- 02 / Quantity
Convert required area into an area-based minimum count of catalog molded panels, with your own allowance.
- 03 / Handling
Estimate material weight from the selected catalog specification and project area.
- 04 / Procurement
Enter prices from received quotes and review included costs, delivery basis and gaps in scope.
Turn a calculation into a project request
- Select a grating product family and identify the mesh or bar profile, depth, resin and surface.
- Prepare a panel schedule showing finished dimensions, quantities, cutouts and bearing direction. Review cutting guidance alongside the layout.
- Check the exact product and clear span in the load and span selector, then review the load tables with the project engineer.
- Compare received prices with the grating quote comparison tool. Match specifications, quantities and delivery responsibilities before judging the totals.
- Send the schedule, delivery ZIP or postal code and need-by date through a quote request. Review the ordering checklist for the remaining details.
Catalog data, with the calculation method visible
Dimensions, area weights and open areas come from Strongrate’s 2023 product catalog. Calculated results are planning estimates derived from those values. Product dimensions and weights are confirmed in the quote and submittal drawings; calculated weight excludes packing, clips and other installation materials.
The complete size and weight charts retain the surrounding catalog detail. For material selection, use the resin and specification guidance and the broader technical resource library.
Request a quote
Save your planning results with the layout, then carry the specification, quantities and scope questions into your quote request.
