What panel sizes are available?
Strongrate's catalog lists 5 ft × 13.12 ft (1524 × 4000 mm); 4 ft × 12 ft (1220 × 3660 mm); 4 ft × 8 ft (1220 × 2440 mm); 3 ft × 10 ft (921 × 3050 mm) for the 1" deep, 1-1/2" square mesh. Send your layout or drawings with the quote request. Sizes and weights of every product are compared on fiberglass grating sizes, weight and open area.
How much load can 1 inch fiberglass grating support?
Read the deflection at your clear span in the catalog tables below, for uniform and concentrated loads at ambient temperature. Halve the loads for impact, and keep pedestrian deflection to the lesser of 3/8" (10 mm) or span/125, as the catalog recommends. If 1" falls short, compare 1-1/2" molded grating. Which resins and surfaces can you order?
The DNV-listed model is isophthalic polyester; its fire results apply to that resin. Strongrate’s catalog also lists fire-retardant vinyl ester, food-grade isophthalic and orthophthalic resin for molded grating, with a concave (meniscus) or gritted top, or a solid cover with a checker or grit finish. Resins and temperature limits are compared on molded fiberglass grating.
How is 1" molded grating quoted and shipped?
Made in Nantong, China, and shipped from China. Full containers and project quantities are quoted factory-direct; orders under about 500 sq ft, or needed in under 3 weeks, are referred to US stocking importers. Prices are quoted per project: see fiberglass grating price per square foot, add hold-down clips, and request a quote.
Frequently asked questions
What is the flame spread index of Strongrate 1" molded grating?
The DNV-listed 38×38×25 mm isophthalic model has an ASTM E84-19a flame spread index of 10 and a smoke-developed index of 55, as listed on DNV Type Approval TAF0000191 Rev. 1. Other resins are not covered by that result.
When should I choose 1-1/2" instead of 1" molded grating?
When the 1" load table cannot meet your design load at your span and deflection limit. Then compare the table for the same mesh at 1-1/2" deep on the 1-1/2" molded grating page.
Can I order a sample of the 1" molded grating?
Yes, request one on the samples page.
